PRAYER CYCLE

The Diocesan Prayer Cycle has been developed in order to ensure that Anglican clergy, church workers and congregations are upheld in prayer around the Diocese. Wherever possible, congregations have been identified and placed on, preceding or close to, the Feast Days with which they are associated. The Prayer Cycle has been organized on a weekly basis especially for use within congregational Sunday worship. Where there are several churches with the same name these have been grouped under the name and by district. 'Vacant' indicates that there is no priest in charge.

You are invited to pray weekly for the following:

Rt. Rev. Howard Gregory - Canonical Administrator and Suffragan Bishop of Montego Bay
Rt. Rev. Robert Thompson - Suffragan Bishop of Kingston

 February ... Pray for the Church in the Province of the West Indies, Diocesan Committees – Council and Financial Boards, Regional Councils, Rural Deans; Bishop’s Examining Chaplains. Altar Guild’s, Vergers, Lay Readers.


FEBRUARY 5

St. Dorothy’s

Today we pray for Altar Guilds and all who prepare the sacred spaces of our churches for worship. We remember vergers, bell ringers, caretakers and those who maintain security in our churches.

 

FEBRUARY 12 (PROVINCIAL SUNDAY)
TODAY – being Provincial Sunday - we offer special Prayers for our Church in the Province of the West Indies and pray for:
His Grace, The Most Rev. John Walder Dunlop Holder, Archbishop of the West Indies, Primate & Metropolitan and all the Bishops of the Province.
The Provincial Chancellor, Provincial Registrar, Provincial Secretary and Staff of the CPWI Secretariat.
The Principal, Staff and Students of Codrington College
The Wardens, Staff and Seminarians of the United Theological College of the West Indies.

 

FEBRUARY 19
St. Matthias'  Churches in:

Pray for Diocesan Committees:
Diocesan Council and Financial Boards, all Diocesan Boards, Regional Councils of Kingston, Eastern Jamaica, Mandeville and Montego Bay, Bishop’s Examining Chaplains.

 

FEBRUARY 26
Pray for all Rural Deans:
