Hillcrest Diocesan Retreat Centre

Hillcrest Retreat Centre is located in Brown’s Town, St. Ann. The five-acre property has dormitories, a chapel, administrative block, a labyrinth and quiet garden areas for reflection

Hillcrest welcomes guests and retreatants, for spiritual direction, for rest, or for a time to share in a life of prayer and contemplation. The Centre is also open to individuals and groups from Congregations, Cures, schools and Companies.  All are welcome for Quiet Days, Study Days, Days of Reflection, Visits for worship, Confession, and Spiritual Direction, as well as groups for conferences. Daily Eucharist, Morning and Evening Prayer are celebrated and retreatants may participate at regular times during the day. Depending on the individual or group, all meals may be in silence, except on Sundays and major feast days. Retreats may be conducted, private or directed as requested.

The Retreat Centre is a 30-bed conference facility, with spacious meeting rooms, a reference (non-lending) library, and the Saint Anne Chapel. The dinning room offers an intimate group setting. The usual accommodation provided is double occupancy with shared bathroom facilities. Enquires about costs should be made directly with the Centre.

These are the Hillcrest-led Retreats; however, feel free to organize your own retreat. We will provide you with the space and place.

Nuttall Memorial Hospital

The Nuttall Memorial Hospital was constructed in 1923 on land purchased by the Diocese in 1921. Today it has the usual amenities of Operating Rooms, Casualty, Maternity wing, wards and private wings as well as a Chapel. The complex also has a Medical Centre, laboratories and X-Ray facilities.

  Nuttall Memorial Hospital

The Hospital has grown since its inception.  It has survived and been the pace setter in many respects in the delivery of private medical services.  While it has experienced the downturn in the Jamaican economy in the latter part of the twentieth century, the Board is making the effort to keep the hospital going and to make it a viable business. Over the years, changes have been made in the effort to curtail costs without affecting the quality of the services offered while making the hospital financially viable.  A massive refurbishing programme has been undertaken in some of the blocks.
