Participants in a Happening experience
Happening is a Christian experience for teenagers and young adults. It seeks to bring participants to a fuller personal knowledge of and relationship with Jesus Christ, and to foster a deeper level of commitment and apostleship so that they may be more equipped to respond to the call to spread the Kingdom of God throughout the world.

Throughout the weekend event, which usually begins on a Friday evening and continues through to Sunday, there are a series of activities designed for fun and Christian development. The programme is presented by the young people with the help of clergy and adult lay leaders. Sessions also present an opportunity for participants to discuss and get answers to many of the faith-based issues with which young people struggle daily.

The informal and friendly setting encourages young participants to freely express their views, as they seek to strengthen their faith.

Happening was launched in Jamaica and spearheaded by the late Rev. Fr. Lloyd Becca  with the first weekend retreat being held in 2006. The response to the Happening experience has been tremendous, with more than 100 youth and young adults (Clergy and Lay) having participated over the years. In September 2009, we hosted our sixth Happening experience and the participants have all described it as “a life changing experience!”

The current Lay Director for Happening is Mr. David Aarons (St. Andrew Parish Church - davidaarons_2000@yahoo.com) and the Spiritual Director is Rev. Fr. Michael Brown (St. Jude's Church, Stony Hill - fathermichaelb@yahoo.com).
